We learn alongside leaders at our partner schools and adapt to meet them where they are. Every adult learning experience is customized so that participants can apply new skills and knowledge deliberately. Whether they are learning to design a vision or manage adaptively, leaders engage in regular practice and feedback cycles.

Competencies for Leaders
All professional learning through Leader Institute develops leaders along the five power competencies. In our fifteen years of leading impactful adult learning spaces, we have built a library of resources, readings and tools to support the development of each power competency and associated subcompetencies.
Programming
Rising Leader Cohort
The Waypoint Cohort is for current leaders ready to chart the next step in their leadership journey. A year-long, cohort-based program, aspiring leaders experience experiential learning, reflection, liberatory design, and data-driven protocols to implement in their current roles. The cohort experience, paired with 1:1 coaching, equips leaders for the next level of school leadership.
Waypoint cohort
Lead Teacher Cohort
The Lodestone Cohort is for lead teachers who are looking to hone their skills beyond their instructional practice. Whether interested in future leadership roles or seeking to strengthen their ability to lead at the grade or department level, they need practical, effective tools to help them make the leap from the classroom. The year-long cohort-based program includes consistent programmatic touchpoints with each Fellow’s school leader in order to ensure coherence between their professional learning and implementation.
Lodestone cohort
Intensives
From multi-day, year-long intensives to three-day summer leadership team alignment workshops, Leader Institute offers a range of short-burst professional learning opportunities. Designed to be delivered to teams, either from a single school or multiple schools across the region, these spaces are designed with the team’s specific needs in mind.
