Lodestone
Cohort

Lodestone is for:

  • Schools that are seeking to develop a pipeline of future leaders
  • Schools building or strengthening the distributive model of leadership on site
  • School leaders looking to strengthen leadership capacity of grade level or department leads
  • Lead teachers or grade level leads who have aspirations to grow

Cohort Structure

Lodestone cohorts consist of 8-12 Fellows who come together in a mix of in-person and virtual convenings over the course of the year. Fellows come together in person three times and a fourth time, virtually. Each three-day convening focuses on a particular aspect of leadership and blends competency development with immersive experience and role-specific design challenges. Fellows work towards a school-specific capstone project, leveraging the tools and resources during the in-person and virtual convenings to work toward a particular goal at their school. Leader Institute coaches work with Fellows and their school leaders to ensure each Fellow is receiving the support needed to develop.

Lodestone cohort

Fellows walk away with...

  • Tools and and resources to lead at the grade or department level
  • A deeper understanding of their strengths and growth areas as a leader
  • A close-knit cohort of peers who are on similar leadership journeys
  • Evidence of a school-based initiative that they have led from vision through implementation and impact analysis
